No cigarette lighter wire ?

The sail panels often shaped like a parallelogram. They're also slightly contoured (curved) from the bottom edge to the headliner. I'm hoping my panel has a memory so it stays in its original shape & my recovered panels maintain this contour (so the clips or fasteners match up nicely). I believe it will require a scotch bit more material but I'm no geometry expert. If I measure the piece of new material by pressing the panel flat onto the new material, outlining it then cutting per the outline, I might end up 1/2"-3/4" short. Because that panel should return to its original contour. I need to cut a larger piece of the fabric (perhaps an inch longer on each side, more than I know I'll need), apply a thin layer of adhesive to both the sail panel & the material --- but NOT apply adhesive all the way to the edge of the new material. Keep that cement-free for now. Then apply the material to the panel as so: Get Helper #1 to hold both corners of one side of the material while I hold the corners of the opposite side, like placing a bed linen on your bed. We give the material a wee bit of slack so the center droops, not taut, as it's applied to the panel. As me & Helper #1 slowly lower the (slightly drooping center of the) material onto the panel. Helper #2 (the one with the sharp eye) guides us & adjusts the panel a few degrees clockwise or counter-clockwise as the goal is for the pattern of the new material is in the proper orientation & the center of the material makes contact first. Once that contact is made, Helper #2 smoothes the material (center-outward) & guides me & Helper #1 as we lower the remaining material onto the panel, w/o applying too much pressure or allowing adhesive to seep through the tiny holes in the material. My goal is to maintain that contour naturally and not allow the new fabric to alter it. Let it dry. Then, once dry, flip it over and cut the material, allowing a bit (perhaps an inch) extra on all edges. Once you're convinced how much material is needed around the edges, a sharp razor can trim away any excess. Hopefully, I avoided applying cement to the edges because I'm going to, now.

Very cool to have an LS6 car still with the original owner. Not to be that guy, but...that car should not have hood pins on it. In 1970 only, SS cars that were ordered WITHOUT the functional cowl induction hood DID NOT have hood pins. Only the cars with the functional cowl hood had the pins. That changed for 1971 and 1972 where ALL SS cars got the hood pins, with or without the functional cowl hood. It also shouldn't have that vertical chrome bar on the grille behind the SS emblem. Although I do seem to remember that some cars built at one specific plant (Oshawa, maybe?) DID have those vertical chrome bars incorrectly installed on the SS cars from the factory, so there's a chance that this car did come from the factory like that.

What about the package tray? Doesn't the package tray cover go behind the bottom of the sail panel?

Bought a console KIT for a 72 elcamino.After waiting Months for delivery it finally came. There was NO paper work with Instructions of where parts go such as sealing strips and as video showed no Pre drilled holes for console lock Latch.You would think a company as big as yours would at least send Instructions on Assy.Very unhappy with purchase.

Better too ake the sail panels all new even cardboard last longer

Bought this kit at the Ocala store. There’s a question about which version I’m supposed to have, early or late? One has a longer actuator than the other. I got the longer one, just in case. My car was built in May of ‘68. What’s the difference between the tow other than length? Shape, angle?

67 olds cutlass door handles from opgi did not come close to fitting. But in their defense I received them in 2010 and did not try them until 2020. So I did not try to send them back. Should have checked them out when I received them🤔

Where's the inner reflector??? Cannot find the inner reflector lens anywhere. Without it the tail lights look like they're so dim that the bulb isn't working right.

Does opgi sell the part that didnt get cut out in this video I bought a new floor pan that has to be modified to fit the tail end of my monte carlo

How did you guys modify the tail end I bought the same pan for my 72 monte carlo and it wont fit . The tail is too long for the tail panel too fit back on

This CANNOT be approved by OPG. This is two guys who obviously have other jobs ( I hope). Amateur hour at its best. Do not follow anything in this video. Liner crooked. Wrinkles all over. Also do your body and paint before you start this. Insulation and maybe sound material if you choose.

So glad it doesn’t have a vinyl top. The lines of this car are too beautiful to break up. Had one just like it with the 400, dual exhaust and posi but it was just a supreme. Not a 442. Bought it 1 year old.
